Biratlaxmi Bikas Bank is established under the Bank and Financial Institution Act 2063 and Company Act 2063 as category "B" financial institution or as a development bank. Headquartered at Biratnagar, it is the first development bank of the Eastern Development Region. Till now, Biratlaxmi is providing its services in three districts - Sunsari and Morang of Koshi Zone and Jhapa of Mechi Zone. 
Biratlaxmi has its head office at Biratnagar and its branches are located at in all the three districts of its operation.
Among the services rendered by Biratlaxmi include Collection of Deposits, Handling Remittance, Extending Loan and Advances and providing Bank Guarantees.  It also provides 365 days Banking Service.
